Desktop widgets are missing, collapsed, or arranged so poorly that you cannot work. Applying a built-in preset or restoring the active preset returns you to a known arrangement. This resets workspace placement only; it does not recover missing account data, quotes, or order activity.
Use the desktop terminal. Compact layouts use fixed Trade, Risk, Accounts, and More navigation instead of the workspace canvas, and desktop presets do not control that surface.
Take a screenshot of the broken arrangement.
Preserve any visible account, symbol, order ID, or error if the layout problem is also blocking a trading investigation.
Selecting a preset immediately replaces your current arrangement. The confirmation message offers ⌘Z undo, but capture anything important first.
Open the workspace layout control in the desktop header.
Under Presets, choose a built-in arrangement such as Swing, Day Trader, or Scalper. Selecting it applies it immediately and reports that the preset was applied.
Confirm the required chart, Order Ticket, account, and activity widgets are visible before you make further edits.
If you selected the wrong preset, press ⌘Z promptly after the confirmation message to undo.
Reset layout also replaces the current arrangement as soon as you select it.
Open the layout control again and select Reset layout.
Tradara reapplies the preset matching the current workspace. If it cannot match the current workspace ID, it falls back to Swing.
Verify the arrangement before selecting Edit layout.
The layout menu does not open: refresh once, after you have preserved the screenshot and trading context.
A preset applied but an expected widget is missing: inspect the tab names before you reset again, since the widget may be on another tab.
The confirmation appeared but the canvas is still unusable: press ⌘Z, record the preset name, and contact Support.
