Whether an account can trade is decided by its status, and status is separate from account type — an evaluation account and a live account are read the same way. Tradara shows the status, any evaluation outcome, and any lock information on the account itself in Accounts, so a single look at the account tells you whether an order will be accepted before you try to place one.
Active is the state that supports normal selection and trading checks. Pending acceptance and Upgraded are transitional. Failed, Locked, and Closed are non-tradable.
Passed reports a successful evaluation-state change, and Failed reports an unsuccessful one, sometimes with a drawdown-specific reason attached. Both are status labels that report what has already been decided — they are not controls, and nothing in the trader UI toggles them.
A Passed status is an evaluation outcome only. It does not promise another account or any commercial result.
To understand why an account cannot trade:
Select the affected account.
Read its status along with any failure or lockout information shown with it.
For a temporary personal lockout, note the countdown or expiry time. It clears itself when that time is reached.
Other restrictions stay in place until whatever imposed them changes it. The account stays visible throughout, with its reported state, outcome, available metrics, and lock details.
Do not attempt to work around an account-managed restriction or a failed state. The trader UI cannot restore a Failed account or remove an account-level restriction, and a rule-enforced restriction has to be taken up with the account provider. Before you contact anyone, record the exact account name, status, reason, expiry, and displayed values — and refresh once, in case an expected transition simply has not rendered yet.
